Featured Plant Yucca constricta Buckley’s yucca (Yucca constricta) is a medium-sized yucca native to the Edwards Plateau of Central Texas and into South and West Texas. Despite its modest size and graceful form, Buckley’s yucca is little used in gardens in the region. Numerous narrow, two-foot long, filamentous leaves form a tight head. Stemless when young, older specimens often develop a truck up to five feet tall. The tall, slightly branched flowering stalk has cream colored flowers held high above the leaves. Use Buckley’s yucca to provide a strong focal point and textural contrast to perennial gardens, borders, native gardens or any dry area of the garden. |
